The Lynch Family loves Vortex! Coach Tommy and Brandi along with all the other coaches are awesome! My kids, ages 11, 10, 7: two boys and a girl... Look forward to every class. The adult classes of BJJ and Muay Thai were just the challenge I needed to push myself beyond my own expectations and into a more confident lifestyle. We are grateful to have found Vortex!

5 of my kids attend here and we couldn't love the Vortex family more. I feel like my kids are completely safe and being trained by professionals who can be both kind and firm. My kids love going every week. I highly recommend Vortex! Try a class, you won't regret it!

Great place, great people, great coaching. Went to Vortex for 2 years while in Florida and absolutely loved it. Went from white to blue here. Really can’t do better in the Brevard area. While there are a bunch of things that set Vortex apart from your average gym I wanted to take a second to point a view out that made an impression on me. First off its a community oriented place. You don’t have gym bullies there and you don’t have people with overblown egos there. What you do have is people that treat each other with respect and watch out for each other. Where people help each other move, help each other train, help each other find jobs, and more. A true community, I know that word gets thrown around a lot but its for real at Vortex. Another thing that stood out to me was the quality and variety of training. You have weekend warrior type people there and you have great competitors there. At first that might seem like a bad mix but it actually works out well. Everyone rolls with respect and can adjust depending on what your goals are. What I’m trying to say is that whether you want to do this as a hobby or be a competitor Vortex is a viable choice for you. If you want to be pushed, you can be pushed and if you want to take it easy, you can take it easy. I think that’s unique for a gym to have and something that stood out to me. Last thing is the coaching. Coach Tommy has decades of experience with BJJ (and striking) but more important than that is a coach that takes time to help you and cares about his students. You have a question and he’ll answer it, will even demonstrate it to you after class so you get it. He’s patient and takes time with each student regardless of their belt or time there. He points out ways you can improve while also noting where you’re doing good and what your strengths are. All in all I miss this place and will be visiting whenever I’m back in town, hope to see you there. -Austin Fraley P.S. Vortex also had a great striking program that wish more people would do, it’s worth trying no matter who you are. Coach Tommy had helped both my Muay Thai and boxing tremendously. Don’t miss out on it.

My son and I have been coming here for a short time. Coach Wales and Zach are great with the kids. They are patience and understanding with the kids, and enforce disciplined behavior. I, myself, have had a lot of fun in the Fundenmental classes. Also take down class is tough in fun and invigorating way.

Vortex Jiu Jitsu Academy deserves more than 5 stars. The black belt instructors are very helpful and no one ever has a dumb question. All techniques are taught clearly and students are given a lot of time to learn. Safety is paramount for the instructors. When new people come, it may seem like a large ordeal to live spar, but the Black Belts explain what the rules are so no one gets hurt. The space is extremely clean. With white mats, you can’t hide anything and the staff at Vortex Jiu Jitsu care and clean there mats and spaces impeccably.
